The repeated use of the Eye of Providence – and we can apply this as much to Madonna and Jay-Z as to Bentham, Le Barbier, Thomson, Barton, the Freemasons, Renaissance artists or pretty much any other individual or group – is proof not of a concerted conspiracy, but of its enduring brilliance as a piece of logo design. But rather than any link to the Illuminati, what each music artist has in common is a discerning eye for the iconic (and perhaps for provocation) – in visuals as much as in melody. They were, so it was believed, open puzzles that contained multiple meanings.Īnd into our modern age, Madonna, Jay-Z and Kanye West have all been accused of using Illuminati iconography, including the Eye of Providence. The symbols in hieroglyphic writing – animals, birds and abstract shapes – were thought to be deliberately mysterious, each one creating meaning through the inspiration of the viewer rather than being part of a linguistic system. Nowadays we know that they are a written language of mainly phonetic signs, but in the 1400s and 1500s they were believed to have a much more mystical significance. This stemmed from a fundamental misunderstanding of hieroglyphics’ original use. One of the most famous appeared in a romance of 1499 titled The Dream of Poliphilo where the translation of an Egyptian single eye symbol was ‘God’. At that time, scholars and artists had a fascination with Egyptian writing the only problem was that they didn’t fully understand it, and attempted translations were normally riddled with inaccuracies. This and other Egyptian hieroglyphs of isolated human eyes went on to affect European iconography during the Renaissance. But what are the origins of that eerie disembodied eye? God had been depicted in numerous cryptic ways before, such as by a single hand emerging from a cloud, but not as an eye. The rays of light that are often shown emanating from the symbol are also a pre-existing sign of God’s radiance in Christian iconography. ![]() The triangle was a long-standing symbol of the Christian Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit sometimes in previous centuries God was even depicted with a triangular halo. Nobody is certain who originally invented it, but whoever did crafted it out of a set of previously existing religious motifs. As the name of the symbol and its early usage suggest, it was invented as a sign of God’s compassionate watchfulness over humanity. In later editions, the Eye of Providence was included as an attribute of the personification of ‘Divine Providence’, ie God’s benevolence. Another key source of the icon was in a book of emblems called the Iconologia, published first in 1593. ![]()

![]() Mannerism was practiced mostly in Florence and Rome and spread to northern Italy and in a later phase throughout the central and northern Europe. ![]() The definite continuum of Mannerism in art is still under debate by the scholars however, the term definitely frames the art production from the end of the High Renaissance in the 1520s until the beginnings of the Baroque around 1590. Color and light were fiercely dramatic and over-expressed, the pictorial space became flattened and the human figure was practically distorted. Similar to painting and sculpture, Mannerism in music and literature was expressed in an elaborated and rather sophisticated manner. ![]() Unlike High Renaissance's fascination with proportion and balance, Mannerism plunged into exaggeration so the works of art created in this style were often asymmetrical and very artificial. The term was used to describe the 16th-century artists and their Mannerism art who were successors of major Renaissance masters such as Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, and was proposed by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Lanzi at the end of the 18th century. The Late Renaissance period around 1520 is better known as Mannerism, which was indeed a specific shift of the previously formed tendencies mostly in aesthetic terms. ![]() To be more precise, this socio-political phenomenon brought further development of both social and natural sciences, technology, art and architecture, and various other civilization betterment. The Renaissance appeared after the Middle Ages and it introduced an entirely new worldview largely inspired by the Antique. ![]() ![]() ![]() Many cameras, smartphones, and basic photo or drawing programs will automatically save into JPG format. JPGs are 2D pixel-based ‘raster’ images, which makes them better for photographs or scans, rather than digital illustrations which are often better as ‘vector’ images. JPG is a universal format which can be opened by almost all image-viewing or -editing programs, by web browsers, and by certain other apps, and they’re supported by most devices. JPG, or JPEG, is one of the most widely used digital image formats. Your camera will also probably let you save photos into other image formats. As RAW is the default for many cameras, you can usually open the files with the software that came with your camera, or with photo-viewing apps or software like Adobe Photoshop. People often need or prefer to convert RAW images into other formats to upload them to websites or social media channels, or to share them with others. Compressed or lossy formats like JPEG can be shared more easily online. The downside of RAW files is that they can have very large file sizes. The reason these hi-spec camera companies take and store RAW images is that they’re usually uncompressed lossless files, retaining all image data in high resolution. Many digital cameras, including Sony, Nikon and Canon, will use RAW as the default format. ![]() The format’s full name is ‘Raw Image Data file’. RAW files are a type of format for digital images, particularly photographs. ![]() ![]() ![]() but we'll see.) For multiple outfits, I would keep each outfit on it's own copy of the character. (Edit: I do want to be able to do this though, for my part I want to add tails and wings. ![]() I don't want to get ahead of myself and promise things I can't deliver on, so I'll wait and see how far I get with generating a control rig for the CC bones. In any case I'll take into account that some people may want to delete the armature and keep using the add-on. ![]() Keeping the iClone/CC bones would mean that animations from iClone don't need to be re-targetted (at least not animations using the same character model) and the clothing and hair does not need to be re-skinned. It would be nice to just call another add-on to do it but it's looking increasingly unlikely. Basically make it work like the bit at 3.06 in your video, press the 'Generate Rig' button and it's all done. What I want to do is generate the control rig around the original Character Creator bones, this may mean having to build my own control rig. I don't really want to do that, because it also throws away all the skinning on the outfits and the hair and I want to keep all of that, or as much as possible. (Or you can export the character as an OBJ in a T-pose or A-pose, it will keep tracking of OBJ objects and there's no armature.) Now then, so the work flow of Rigify and Autorig Pro: both seem to throw out the original bones and build a new armature from scratch. Firstly: The reason the sliders stop working is because you deleted the armature, it finds the objects and materials to update by looking through the child objects of the armature and I never considered the possibility that someone would want to delete it. So, I know it's a lot to ask, but I really like it when one designer puts together as many parts of a workflow as possible- the products tend to be so much easier to use. Sometimes it's just a matter of the parts not agreeing on what the controls are supposed to do, or terminology conflicts, but sometimes it's more serious and you need addons to make the addons work. I don't know enough about blender to know if it's a problem there, but I've seen it in plenty of commercial software that is built up with modules with different origins. The thing about there already being other addons for that, is that they sometimes don't play nice with each other. But, I do actually own Autorig now, so maybe I'll try that- it seems like it automates a bunch of stuff you have to do manually in rigify. I saw that video, it's pretty good, but I kind of like the rigify control rig better, I think. Thanks!
